The major event "Totentanz zu Basel", which was due to take place at the end of June, has been canceled and the organizers have filed for bankruptcy. This is a catastrophic threat to the livelihoods of the artists involved, as they will receive no compensation.

As a result of the City of Geneva's commitment to more equal gender representation in public spaces, Place Charles-Sturm was renamed Place Beatriz-Consuelo in June 2024. This change honours an important prima ballerina and teacher who passed on her passion to numerous generations of dancers through the Junior Ballet she founded.
