Panorama Dance

The "Panorama Dance" commissioned by the National Cultural Dialogue (NKD) in 2017 was presented to the public on 30 August 2019. The report provides a detailed overview of current dance funding in Switzerland by the public sector (as of 2017). It focuses on the independent dance scene, but excludes the in mainly German-speaking Switzerland based theatres with their own dance ensembles. The Panorama concentrates on the promotion of choreographic works. Other important areas such as the professional situation of dance professionals, the precarity of dance professionals, especially in the independent scene, or the archiving of works could not be taken into account in this study. Despite these limitations, the "Panorama Dance" now provides well-founded numerical material for the development of further measures and strategies.
