SSA 2024 GRANTS FOR CHOREOGRAPHIC PROJECTS
Every year, the SSA (Société Suisse des Auteurs) supports national choreographic creation by awarding grants to high-quality professional projects from all over the country.
Designed to support the creation of original choreographic works by independent Swiss dance companies, the SSA Cultural Fund awards up to eight grants, with a total budget of CHF 60,000 on a competitive basis. Among the 2023 winners were Swiss based artists, Perrine Valli, Marion Zurbach, Stefanie Inhelder and Marc Oosterhoff.
Up to 2 grants (of CHF 5,000 each) may be awarded to "emerging" choreographers who have a maximum of four choreographic creations under professional conditions.
Up to 3 grants (of CHF 10,000) may be awarded to projects presented by "established" choreographers who have a minimum of five choreographic creations of at least 30 minutes' duration under professional conditions (ideally including the organization of tours and festival participation)
And one grant of 20,000 francs for a project presented by an "established" choreographer whose companies have had a support contract with at least one public body, have a minimum of ten choreographic creations to their credit, lasting at least 30 minutes, and have toured and taken part in festivals.
