CULTURAL POLICY
Danse Suisse is actively involved in cultural policy considerations and measures, such as position statements, discussions and working groups. Through its managing director, Danse Suisse is represented on the board of Swissculture, Swissculture Sociale and in the Taskforce Culture working group. Together they warn against short-sightedness regarding the Relief Package 27.
The Taskforce Culture is a cross-sector and cross-association merger of over 70 Swiss cultural associations and organizations. On May 4, 2025, the Taskforce Culture published its position statement on Relief Package 27 in a press release. It emphasizes that culture is systemically relevant. Culture is not a luxury, but a strategic investment in Switzerland's security, resilience, innovation and sustainability. Culture protects democratic values, promotes social cohesion, strengthens creative industries and counteracts polarization and disinformation. Particularly in view of current geopolitical uncertainties, culture must be seen as part of a comprehensive security strategy.
Together with its partner associations, the Culture Taskforce is calling for the planned cuts in the cultural sector to be abandoned, for decision-making to be made transparent and for targeted investments to be made in cultural programs and education. Switzerland can only be able to secure its democratic stability and innovative strength in the long term in this so-called way.
