Isabella Spirig has a Master's degree in Non-Profit Organization & Public Management and is an experienced cultural manager. In earlier years, she worked as a dance teacher, dancer, and production manager. Furthermore, she founded the women's tango group "Las Tangueras" in the 1990s, which successfully toured Switzerland, Germany and France. From 1993 to 2023, she worked in various roles for the Migros Culture Percentage. She directed the dance department and the international dance festival, Steps, which she programmed inclusively in 2006 and developed further in dialogue with the dance community.

As a cultural promoter and organizer, Isabella Spirig took part in numerous expert committees and juries. She also initiated the "IntegrART" project on behalf of Migros Culture Percentage in 2007, which promotes the inclusion of performing artists in art and society. She is, as well, the recipient of the first Swiss Diversity Award in the art category in 2018. Isabella Spirig is a committed networker who has been championing dance interests for years and knows the needs of dance professionals from various perspectives.
