LET'S TEACH DANCE!
The next edition of the LET'S TEACH DANCE! seminar will take place on October 26th, 2024 in Lugano. The deadline for registration is October 19th.
The following questions will be covered:
- Should teachers continue to make physical corrections?
- Can progress be achieved without exerting excessive pressure?
- How do I deal with the expectations of parents whose child is intended to dance a leading role?
This seminar offers an in-depth look at the ethical, responsible and professional aspects of teaching dance. Dance educators from the region are given the opportunity to share their experiences and enrich their teaching practice.
Why participate?
Creating a safe, supportive and appreciative learning environment is of the utmost importance in today's dance teaching landscape. This seminar is led by Professor → Angela Pickard, Director of the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health at the University of Canterbury.
Code of Conduct for Dance Teachers
A central topic of the seminar will be the recently revised Danse Suisse → Code of Conduct for dance teachers, which serves as a basis for promoting ethics, integrity and professionalism in dance teaching.
