Laurence Perez, former director of the Sélection suisse en Avignon, will succeed Philippe Olza as head of the Association Danse Neuchâtel in January 2025.

She joins the association this autumn on a 50% basis. Each year, ADN programs around twenty shows. She told Alexandre Demidoff of Le Temps that she would be following in her predecessor's footsteps.

"I'll of course be working with all the regions, but I'd also like our projects to see the light of day in nature, in unexpected urban spaces and even private apartments."

Philippe Olza, multidisciplinary artist and choreographer, became ADN's director in 2016, succeeding Georges Zahatchenko, Josiane Cuche and François Nyffeler, who founded the association in 1996. Working with choreographer Nicole Seiler, he has made dance the driving force behind "faire ensemble" from Neuchâtel to La Chaux-de-Fonds, via Val-de-Ruz and Val-de-Travers and the town of Le Locle, bringing dozens of artists and companies to the four corners of the canton of Neuchâtel.

As well as weaving together major collaborations, he says he "lives dance like a flame", relishing the inter-generational enthusiasm and audience mix in a canton that is increasingly sensitive to the art of choreography.
