IMPRONTA-VIOLA AWARD FOR ELA FRANSCELLA
On August 23, choreographer and artist Ela Franscella was presented with the Impronta Viola Prize. This prize is awarded to individuals or groups from Italian-speaking Switzerland who have made an outstanding contribution in social, sports, cultural, or artistic fields.
Franscella, the founder and artistic director of the MOPS_DanceSyndrome company, was presented with the award in recognition of her 20 innovative productions, which include dance and film projects. Her work has attracted international attention and recognition from numerous academic institutions. Furthermore, it has facilitated collaboration within the professional dance community. Particular emphasis was placed on her work with young adults with Down syndrome.
The MOPS_DanceSyndrome company currently has nine dancers, and its performances take place internationally, from Geneva to Brussels. Additionally, their productions can be viewed at the recently inaugurated La Casa dell'Arte MOPS venue in Locarno.
